PRESBYTERY SURVIVAL GUIDE

Welcome – You are now a member of Erie Presbytery and have a voice and a vote in all decisions within the Court. (That’s what we call this level of the church) We encourage everyone to express their opinions.  Don’t feel shy! Share your name and Pastoral Charge when you stand to speak. You are commonly referred to as a Presbyter.  Presbyters may be clergy or lay people and are equal members of the Presbytery.

Each Plenary Meeting is asked to yield its powers to the Executive between  its regular sessions.

Standing Committees carry out their tasks during this time and prepare their report and recommendations to the Plenary

 Plenary Meeting Procedure

Upon arrival, go to the registration desk.

Pay for supper ($12) and keep ticket to hand in during the meal

Pick up an agenda booklet, and other ‘handouts’ available

You are now ready to find a seat (no seats are assigned)

The Chairperson will call the meeting to order and it should go along smoothly corresponding to the agenda.  Enjoy!!!
